1 First Principles God, Christ, holy spirit

2 First Principles God, Christ, holy spirit
Create a space in your Bible for the first principle, "God, Christ and the holy spirit" and Bible mark the passages that show there is only one God and the holy spirit is not the 3rd person of a trinity of gods. 1 Timothy2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1Cor. 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we by him. Acts 8:12-19 Simon’s offer to buy the holy spirit.

2. List seven Bible passages that show Jesus' relationship to God after his ascension. 1CO.11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 1TI.2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; REV.3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, EPH.1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ… 1CO 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things 1CO.15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. Note the Context -- after the Millennium Rev. 20:6 Christ subject to God.

3. List four ways to show the holy spirit is a power and not a person. Peter filled with power not a person. Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, Acts8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, God’s power by which He reveals Himself. 2Pet.1: God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. God’s power by which He is everywhere present. Psa.139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit … thou art there. God’s power by which he sustains creation. Gen.1:2 … And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. God (“Elohim”) here includes the angels who do God’s bidding and manifested God’s power in our creation.

Robertson in his Word Pictures in the N.T. says, "Paul does not use (BLANK) in connection with Christ, but only "en", "dia", and "eis". Fill in the blank with the correct Greek preposition. How does this Greek preposition help in using 1Cor.8:6 against the Trinity? “ek” 1 Corinthians8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. “All things” of (“ek”) God which includes Jesus. By God knowing what Jesus would accomplish He went ahead with the plan (logos) so because of Jesus’ accomplishment “all things” were created.

5. Write out what is meant by God manifestation and give three scriptures that help to show your answer God manifestation is that His son, His angels, His saints can manifest and bear His name much like those who are part of a corporation can bear the name of that company. GOD MANIFESTED BY HIS HOLY ANGELS: • EXO 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. GOD MANIFESTED BY HIS SON: • JOH 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? GOD MANIFESTED BY HIS SAINTS THE PROPHETS: • 2PE 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

6. Trinitarians use the titles "son of God" and "son of man" to negate clear verses like 1 Cor.11:3. How does the word "son" support that Jesus is not God? 1 Cor.11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. The word "SON" shows relationship and position. By definition the father's position is greater, being over the son. This was so well understood by Jews that Jesus asked the question in Mt.22:42. MAT 22:42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. [43] He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, [44] The LORD said unto my (David’s) Lord (Jesus), Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? [45] If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

7. How can you use Christ's question to the Jews in Luke 20:40-43 against the trinity? Luke20:40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all. 41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? 42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. The title "son of God" shows that in position, God is greater than Jesus since: This title continues after Jesus ascends to heaven. This goes against the Trinity which make them equal. Verse 42 shows God saying unto Jesus to sit at his right hand showing God is the supreme authority in telling Jesus to sit until God makes Jesus’ enemies his footstool.

Describe in your own words what the church doctrine of incarnation is all about. It is a mystery doctrine needed to support the Trinity. It involves Jesus having both a divine nature and a human nature and Jesus could divest his divine nature and come down as a man with man’s nature. The mystery lies in the fact that the two Natures constitute one single Person, although they are not fused into one single Nature. That is confusion and God isn’t the author of confusion! 1 Corinthians14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

9. Why is it so important to establish in Phil. 2:6-8 the timing WHEN Christ was in God's form and WHEN he took on the form of a servant? Philippians2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Trinitarians believe Jesus before his birth was part of a triune godhead. That he divested his Divine Nature and became Man’s Nature. Verses 6 & 7 give the timing to be when upon his baptism Jesus became a servant but unlike Eve he didn’t try to be equal with God even though he was in the form of God having the H.S. without measure and having the “image” and “likeness” of God (Gen.1:26). This exhortation and context works IF the timing applies to Christ's ministry. The timing (WHEN Christ was in God's “form”) is established in verse 7 when he took the form of a servant including washing the disciples’ feet and in verse 8 “death on the cross”.

10. What church creed speaks of the incarnation? Nicene Creed 325 AD “…who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,” …

11. What is the point of showing that the trinity wasn't defined until the Athanasian Creed in the 4th century? If it was life eternal to know God and Jesus, why wasn’t it defined until the 4th century? Also where is the Holy Spirit in this relationship? John17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

13 First Principles God, Christ, holy spirit
12. In what way did Jesus and the prophet Jeremiah pre-exist? In God’s plan before our creation. 1PE 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
