The aim of today’s meeting
… is for you and your child to feel ready to start at St Luke’s School in September….

Smooth Transition by… Getting to know each other
2 opportunities before children start school - today - home visits on 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2 opportunities after children start - Reception Evening on Wednesday 16th September at 7pm - learn about the Early Years curriculum - a typical day in Reception - how you can best support your child - meet your fellow parents - Phonics and school lunch taster session on Thursday 17th September 2.45pm - tbc

Introductory Mornings and Staggered Entry
Why? So that all children have best chance to settle happily into new class So that teachers and children get to know each other in smaller groups So that no group is disadvantaged So that we have a clear picture of each child's starting point for learning Staggered Entry Grp 1: Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th Sept am am Grp 2: Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th Sept pm – 3.30pm Thursday 10th – Friday 11th Sept am -12noon Monday 14th – Wednesday 16th Sept am -1pm From Thursday 17th September All day

Pupil Premium Funding Pupil Premium provides funding for:
specific interventions to support learning daily fruit and milk snack breakfast club after school clubs school trips parent mentor Pupil Premium eligibility: Income Support Income-based Job Seekers' Allowance Income-related Employment and Support Allowance Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 the Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit Child Tax Credit Applications must be made via website by end of September.

Are you ready? By the time your child starts school you will have (hopefully) …. Found out all you need to know about starting at St Luke’s (through meetings, information in pack, asking questions) Met your child's class teachers Completed the forms before your home visit Purchased and named child’s uniform and PE kit

Don’t worry... If English is not your first language …
If your child is only just 4 …. If your child can’t write their name or doesn’t know any sounds …… If your child doesn’t know anyone … If your child cries ….. If you cry!
