In order to obtain a Work Permit as “Shareholder/Administrator” of a purchased company
Company must be:
- In business for at least 3 years
- Financially in good standing
- Must be an SRL (Ltd) or Spa (inc.)

There are three major kinds of Italian corporations for foreign investors:
Limited Liability Company (SrL) - The minimum capital required is EUR 10,000.
Joint Stock/Stock liability Company (SpA) - The minimum capital required is EUR 120,000
Branches - The foreign parent is responsible for all liabilities of the Italian Branch.
Important Note:
It is not possible to obtain a Work Permit for autonomous work via the establishment of a NewCo. In this case, the assignment procedures (i.e. ICT work permits) would be the best option (see next slide).
