With your group, do your best to define your category of health? - Provide 1 health and 1 unhealthy example. Define the 4 Aspects of Health

Each of our units this year will fit into 1 or more of the following categories of health: Social, Emotional, Physical, and Mental. With your partner go to our class website and list which of our units fits into your assigned component. Give a brief explanation of why you believe it fits. The 4 Components of Health:

12 Many of us informally assess our health on a daily basis.
Ex: If we feel out of shape we exercise. If we feel our diet has been unhealthy we change out diet. If we stink, we shower. If we get in trouble for negative behaviors, we avoid those behaviors. Health Assessment

13 Am I Healthy Some things to consider when assessing you health:
Am I physically active regularly? ________ Do I eat a variety of foods, including fruits and vegetables? ________ Is it easy to relax & express my feelings? ________ Do I plan ahead to deal with stressful events? ________ Do I practice good hygiene? ________ Which is your answer go each: Almost always, Sometimes, or aAlmost never? 14 Does Heredity effect our Health
Heredity – is a trait that is passed down from parent to child. Heredity can effect our health in several ways… (Some) Conditions can be passed down. Type 1 Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Eye sight. Our home environment/ parents ethics and habits can also contribute to our health. Relationships and emotions can also effect our health. Does Heredity effect our Health Produce no incilin vs. typ 2 is incilin resistant

15 You are Responsible for your Health
Lifestyle – Set of behaviors by which you live. Attitude – The way you act, think, and feel that causes you to make one choice or another. Preventive healthcare – Taking the steps necessary to prevent illness or injury. You are Responsible for your Health
