Prepare Students to Participate in Class
Note to Instructors: This presentation deck outlines the student set up steps if you’re planning to manually export grades to your LMS. Areas marked in RED should be changed to better suit your course/campus set-up.

Reef Student Web Application
USE THIS SLIDE IF YOUR INSTITUTION DOES NOT HAVE SINGLE-SIGN ON WITH YOUR CAMPUS PORTAL AND REEF. Go to If you've used Reef before, login. If you are new to Reef, click on the "Sign Up" link. Select your institution, then enter your information. Please use your university and your [student ID for our LMS]. Important: Only create and use a single Reef student account. Creating multiple accounts may result in the loss of grade points.

Reef Student Web Application
USE THIS SLIDE IF YOUR INSTITUTION DOES HAVE SINGLE-SIGN ON WITH YOUR CAMPUS PORTAL AND REEF. Go to Select [INSTITUTION NAME] from the drop down menu and log in with your campus portal credentials. You will then be directed back to Reef where you can create an account if you’re new, or link to your existing account. If you’re new to Reef and creating an account, confirm the details Reef gets from the campus portal when creating your account. Important: Only create and use a single Reef student account. Creating multiple accounts may result in the loss of grade points.

If you are using an iClicker Remote...
If you plan to use an iClicker remote, you must register your remote in your Reef account. [Delete this slide if you are not allowing clickers in your classroom]

If you are using an iClicker Remote...
Enter the barcode ID number found on the back of your clicker. If you do not have your clicker, you can register it later in your Reef profile. [Delete this slide if you are not allowing clickers in your classroom]

Reef Student Mobile App
If you want to use your mobile device to vote, you can download the mobile app from the Apple or Google app stores. [Delete this slide if you are not allowing mobile devices in your classroom]

Add This Course Go to the courses list and click the + button.
Search and select [Enter University Name]. Search and select [Instructor Name] or [Course Name]. Confirm this course by clicking "Add this Course."

Check Your Courses List
You should see the course added to your Courses list.

Join a Session I will be running [Attendance, Polling, and Quizzing] sessions in class. When I start a session, you will see a “Join” button appear on your screen. Hit the Join button to [check-in to Attendance, participate in a poll, or participate in a quiz].

Viewing Course Statistics and Course History
The main screen of Reef shows your Course Statistics. Here you will see an overview of your course performance for points earned in polls and/or quizzes. You will also see an overview of your attendance performance. The Course History view shows you a detailed view of your individual session results, by date. You can select an individual session to view more details, [including results and images of polling questions to use as a study guide].

Subscription Expired [Delete this slide if you are only using the Attendance module. Attendance is free to students during our preview through the end of 2017] After 14 days, your free trial will expire and you'll need to purchase a subscription or obtain an iClicker Reef access code. You can obtain an iClicker Reef access code in one of two ways: 1. You can purchase an iClicker Reef access code from your bookstore. 2. You can purchase a new iClicker remote, which may come with a code for 6 months of iClicker Reef access. Contact the campus bookstore with additional questions.
