2 Parent Homework A packet will be sent Home Monday with specific team information. please review as a family to ensure your child’s success. Use your 6a checklist to see the items that need to be returned.

3 iClass Extended time to provide opportunities for intervention or enrichment, to ensure that all students continue to improve and master new skills and content! WEB-Where Everyone Belongs Mentoring program with 8th grade leaders to check in and do activities with the incoming 6th grade.

4 iClass– First Quarter During the First Quarter, this class will provide all students with foundations they need for success in middle school. Topics will include: study skills, social skills, team-building, leadership, how to get and stay organized, extracurricular opportunities for middle school students, and more!

5 2nd Quarter Onward… Students who are identified as being in need of intervention services in reading, writing and math will meet with teachers who will provide these services. Students are identified for intervention by analyzing data from a variety of assessments. Assessment is done on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Students may move into or out of intervention groups fluidly, as their academic needs change.

6 Exploration Students not in intervention groups will be scheduled into classes that provide exploration in a variety of topics! These could include connections to STEM, the Arts, Technology, Typing Skills, Community Service and Health/Fitness.

7 Academic Support Opportunities
Learning Lab Homework club Offered to all students. One hour before school begins. Learning Lab provides extra help for school assignments, quiet place to study, opportunity to get caught up on work missed due to absence, etc. Attendance is voluntary. Purpose: Students who did not complete work in class or for homework are required to attend Homework Club to finish assignments. Student receives a pass to go to Homework Club at lunch. Students may still purchase a lunch before going to Homework Club, or bring a lunch from home. Attendance is required.

8 Positive Incentives Team Days- designed to be fun for students that are academically and behaviorally in good standing. Students that need extra time or assistance will use these days to get caught up. INCENTIVE P.R.I.D.E.- campus wide program to “catch” kids doing the right thing. PRIDE tickets are put into a drawing for pop-up parties. FOL’s (front of the line) SOTW- to recognize the efforts of students in the classroom SOTM- again to recognize, but this is above and beyond

13 Nextext Series Stories in History
A Soldier’s Life Protecting the distant borders of the empire is a soldier’s job. Life on the Roman frontiers is hard, dangerous, and lonely. 15 If your child is absent It is THEIR responsibility to come see me about what they have missed. Your child has the number of days they were absent to turn in work that they’ve missed.
