2 Bardejov town in North-Eastern Slovakia situated in the Šariš region
-The town is one of UNESCO‘s World Heritage Sites

3 The original Hungarian name of the town comes from the word "chopper" , which indicated an amount of forested territory which could be chopped down by one man in one day. In the Hungarian name the "tree" suffix came later, and it also changed The present Slovakian name is based on this Hungarian name.

4 History -the first written reference to the town dates back to the 1240s -Bardejov gained the status of a royal town in 1376, later becoming a free royal town -The town’s golden age ended in the 16th century -. 5 Jewish Presence in Bardejov
Like many European small towns, Bardejov maintained a strong Jewish population before World War IIand the Holocaust. In March 2006, the Bardejov Jewish Preservation Committee was founded as a non-profit organization by Emil Fish, a survivor ofBergen-Belsen concentration camp who was born in Bardejov.

7 Basic information Bardejov Spa is located in northeastern side of Slovakia, in the north of Prešov region. It is situated 5 km from the centre of Bardejov.
