2. ABOUT THE COLLEGE ABOUT THE FDP
The very name Jeppiaar has grown to be synonymous with excellence in education and the Jeppiaar Educational Trust was formed in 1987, with the sole purpose of providing cutting edge technical education that is both accessible and affordable by establishing premier colleges of Engineering and Management studies. Under the aegis of our honorable Chairman esteemed Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, M.A., B.L., Ph.D., Jeppiaar Engineering College was inaugurated on 15th August 2001 as one of the spearheading institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust. The Managing Director of the college Dr. M. Regeena Jeppiaar, B.Tech., M.B.A., Ph.D. daughter of Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, M.A., B.L., Ph.D. has led the college from its fledgling state to an institution to reckon with.
ABOUT THE FDP
In today’s scenario, decision making has become multifaceted and complicated. It thus has become imperative to identify the research problems with the objective of creating knowledge for the benefit of business, economy and society at large. Researchers at times, find themselves technically constrained while promoting research due to lack of understanding of statistical analysis and techniques. So, there is a need of developing an understanding in designing and carrying out research that can better equip faculty to effectively guide their own research and student’s research work and dissertation. This FDP focuses on the procedure to do research. As a researcher, it is mandatory for one to know the basics, in order to satisfy the purpose of research and to establish an acceptable conclusion.
OBJECTIVES OF THE FDP
The objective of the FDP is to help participants to gain basic understanding of research methodology and their utility within related areas as a means of summarizing data, making estimates and testing hypothesis. Participants will learn concepts related to sample statistics and how to make inferences about populations from the same. They will gain quantitative literacy related to basic statistics and learn basics related to research methodology.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The programme will be useful to the persons who are interested in doing the research. In addition to this, participants from corporate who wish to pursue their Ph.D. will also benefit from this FDP. The fresh Ph.D. scholars, and newly joined faculty members, who wish to enhance their computer based data analysis skills for future research projects will also benefit from this programme. Further, the working executives will be able to upgrade their knowledge in the areas of research methodology & data analysis.
