Designed to follow custom R-curve creation process from Index 2 Operator’s Manual, chapter 12; replaces Index R-curve data sheet
Includes settings for TLC (adjusts for lower absorption due to finger thickness), RDC, IRDC, IRAC, light level (medium or low)
Save in computer for later use (set up your own R-curve library) or click Send to install into appropriate Index 2 R-curve position (5 locations available: 3 medium light level, 2 low light level)

10. Installing a Custom R-Curve into Index 2
With Index 2 connected to computer:
Open Ansur (using Rune)
Select Tools > Options
Scroll down to Index 2 thumbnail and select Index 2
Use Oximeter Make drop-down menu to select R-curve to be installed
Click to select “Send custom R-curve to Index 2XL before performing the test” or view R-curve

13. FAQs Question: Why can’t Ansur/Index 2 automatically report data?
Answer: Index 2 is a simulator. There is no connection between Ansur (computer) and the oximeter. Ansur auto-configures Index 2 input to the oximeter. Keyboard entry of displayed information is required, which Ansur evaluates against pre-determined test limits for pass/fail result
Question: Will using the Ansur Index 2 Plug-in allow it to work with the newest Nellcor oximeters? How about Masimo Rainbow?
Answer: No. Ansur cannot make any test instrument do more than its design allows. There remain hardware incompatibilities with the newest Nellcor technology and Masimo Rainbow uses multiple light wavelengths (multiple LEDs) which Index 2 cannot simulate.
Question: How fast is the operation of the Ansur Index 2 Plug-in?
Answer: The configuration of Index 2 by Ansur for any particular test is very fast. However, the signal processing time of oximeters varies widely; and the older the oximeter technology, the slower its processing and settling time. Newer oximeter technologies process quicker and settle quicker.
