1 Gallery of Artists The Gallery - Created by Lora O’Neill 7/1/2007, Graphics and information cited on individual slides and files. The Gallery is divided into 3 sections: Match the Photo, Name That … and Famous Facts. On slide 1 – change the name of the Gallery to what matches your activity. Match the Photo: lets you place 3 images for the students to identify which matches your question. You could put an author and 3 book covers, an artist and 3 paintings, an inventor and 3 inventions. If it is not something you have a photo for – you can also create a word art and type the concept into the box. Name That …: lets you place 1 image and 4 choices for the students to identify the picture by. You could put a painting and 4 artists, a book and 4 authors, an author and 4 books, an explorer and 4 locations, and invention and 4 inventors, a president and 4 term years… Famous Facts: can work like family feud. Place a photo prompt in the frame and 10 facts in the boxes to the left. If you want to really use points for weighted responses, be sure you order your facts before typing them into powerpoint. To edit Match the Photo: Enter your prompt at the top of the slide. Copy and paste your first picture onto the first frame. Resize it until it fits into the frame. Finally Right Click on the picture and choose Send to Back. Repeat for frames 2 and 3. If you want to keep your citations for pictures and information with the activity, copy and paste the web addresses into the text box located in the grey space at the top of the slide. To change which is the answer: click on the word answer and slide it underneath the correct answer. ALSO click on the brown box tracing the “correct” frame and move that to the new correct frame. If you want to get it in just the right place, use your arrow keys or hold ctrl+ your arrow keys. Copy and paste the slide at the left to make as many questions as you would like. You may also delete the activities you don’t want to use. To play Match the Photo: Students (or teacher) will click on the frame to answer. If you are incorrect it will say Try Again. If you get the correct answer, a brown frame will appear to confirm the answer and Move On will appear. Click Move On to go to the next slide. To edit Name That …: On the Name That slide, fill in what the students are naming; example name that author. Enter your image prompt at the left of the slide. If you want to keep your citations for pictures and information with the activity, copy and paste the web addresses into the text box located in the grey space at the top of the slide. Click on the outline tab at the left of the PowerPoint screen. Type in 4 new answers choices. To change which is the answer: click on the word answer and slide it to the left of the correct answer. ALSO click on the star next to the “correct” answer and move that to the new correct answer. If you want to get it in just the right place, use your arrow keys or hold ctrl+ your arrow keys. You may also need to resize how tall the invisible box is by using the top or bottom white dots. Copy and paste the slide at the left to make as many questions as you would like. You may also delete the activities you don’t want to use. To play Name That…: Students (or teacher) will click on the answer. If you are incorrect it will say Try Again. If you get the correct answer, a star will appear to confirm the answer and Move On will appear at the bottom. Click Move On to go to the next slide. To Edit Famous Facts: Enter your image prompt at the left of the slide. If you want to keep your citations for pictures and information with the activity, copy and paste the web addresses into the text box located in the grey space at the top of the slide. Copy and paste the slide at the left to make as many questions as you would like. You may also delete the activities you don’t want to use. On the right, double click on the words in the boxes. If you do not click correctly it will give you a Format Object window. Be sure to aim for click directly on the letters. Once the edit text box has appeared, clear what is in the box and enter your information. If you want to really use points for weighted responses, be sure you order your facts before typing them into PowerPoint. To play Famous Facts: Click on the box for the text to appear. The teacher or presenter will want a printed copy of the slide to use for the activity so that you know what text is where. This could be used for the lecture time and then as the game to save preparation time. As the game students could be asked to recall the important information and the teacher would reveal the box the student recalled correctly.
