2. ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE
Active voice
Describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb.  
Passive voice
The subject is acted upon by the verb.
Form of Passive
Subject + finite form of to be + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs)
The object of the active sentence becomes the subject in passive
the finite form of the verb is changed (to be +
past participle)
