An ultra capacitor is an electrochemical device consisting of two porous electrodes immersed in an electrolyte solution that stores charge electro statically.
It stores electrical charge in an electric double layer at the interface between a high-surface-area carbon electrode and a liquid electrolyte

these have capacitance values of several hundred Farads, enabling adequate energy storage for several short-duration, high-power applications
depending on their design and construction, the specific power capacity (w/kg) of Ultracapacitors can be 10 to 100 times higher than that of most batteries
