Why do we need to know about heaven?

We have heavenly citizenship
Philippians 3:20-21 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”

What we can look forward to
Heaven is a place of peace and joy, a place of rest, of fellowship, of friendship, no death, no pain, no suffering. The bible speaks of heaven being a city. Hebrews 11:10, 13:14. Buildings, gatherings, walls made from precious stones, etc. Hebrews 11:16 refers to Heaven as a country, we can expect to find earthly things there, including atmosphere, mountains, water, trees, people, houses, etc.
