1. Some Things We Can Get Excited About
I Pet. 1:1-6

2. 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

3.  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

5. In This World, Many things Can Bring us Down
1. Everyday we hear that ISIS is growing in strength
2. In recent weeks and months, there have been people devastated
By earthquakes all over the world.
3. We have droughts and massive flooding.

6. 4. The Economy and Election have been discouraging.
5. We have soldiers who are fighting and living in harms way.
6. All kinds of social issues confronting us

7. Yet, Peter writing to a people in midst of great persecution,
You have a reason to be Excited

8. Christians must always remember
Phil. 3:20 ‘that our citizenship is in Heaven” from which
We also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ.

9. Wherein ye greatly rejoice! That phrase means: to be exceedingly glad!
Let’s observe what Peter tells us, and notice some Things We Can Get Excited About!
The key to this section of scripture is in verse 6
Wherein ye greatly rejoice!
That phrase means: to be
exceedingly glad!
‘jumping for joy’

13. What a PRIVILEDGE to be a Christian!!

14. 2. Our Hope….Excitement about our hope
V. 3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

2. The “One Hope” God’s people have. Eph. 4:1-6

16. 3. Wow…what an Inheritance!
My Father owns the world…and I’m an heir of God!!
Heirs/joint heirs with Jesus Christ

17. Our Inheritance described:
1. It is Incorruptible
2. It is Undefiled
3. It is ‘Reserved in Heaven for you.”

18. Heaven is not a myth or a fairytale. We have an Inheritance!!
1. It is reserved
2. It is guarded

19. 4. Our Inheritance is Secure!
V. 5 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time

20. We are secure because we are IN HIM and remember
Who Jesus is!! The Saviour of the world!

21. Conclusion: We must focus on who we are…as well as Who We serve!
I Pet. 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him: for
He cares for you.”

22. Will that excite you? 1. Knowing the “priviledge” we have
2. Knowing the “hope” we have
3. Knowing the “inheritance” we have
4. Knowing the ‘security” we have

23. Joy, Rejoice, Exceeding Joy; ‘the hope of glory’
Heaven is just a heart beat ahead
But Hell is likewise just a heart beat ahead
