4. Methodology
A total of 1,126 adult residents from Camden County were interviewed by telephone to assess their health practices and health status.
Municipalities within Camden County identified by the state as “distressed” were over-sampled and comprised nearly 60% of the sample. Camden City comprised over half of the “distressed” sample.
Interviews were conducted between August 1 and August 26, 2005.

5. Weighting of the Data
Due to a larger proportion of female respondents, all of the data are weighted to correct for this representation.
Additionally, the results for Camden County Overall were statistically weighted to reflect the actual population figures, as the sampling strategy over-sampled within the “distressed” municipalities.
Both the state and national BRFSS data are weighted as well.

6. Survey Instrument
The survey was comprised primarily of questions from the CDC’s BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System) Study, although some questions were specific to Camden County.
Utilizing the BRFSS survey allows for comparisons to state and national data.
