Extracurricular opportunities include: Immersion exchange: hosting and travel. German Immersion weekend with other KY schools. Both languages: Native/heritage speakers placed in consultation with WL teachers: Ms. Flemister, Ms. May, Dr. Rose, Ms. Tinch.

GERMAN IS FOR MUSIC LOVERS
Germany and Austria have RICH TRADITIONS in classical music, producing composers such as Beethoven, Bach, Schubert, Brahms, Mozart, Hindemith, and many others.

Learning from the Past For over 70 years, the Germans have worked to atone for the crimes of the Holocaust. Schools and civic organizations promote the German constitution’s first principle, “the dignity of every human being.” Scene from “Labyrinth of Lies” (2014), one of many films to explore Germany’s troubled past.

Success and opportunities for German students.
- 5 BGHS students have in recent years received government scholarships for 1-2 semesters of study in Germany. - BGHS has a 100% pass rate on the German Language AP exam. - BGHS students consistently perform with distinction on the National German Exam. Even for international students, college is free at German universities; The government covers some living expenses for students.
