1 Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
Integer Vocabulary SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Students will use a flashcard app to study integer vocabulary. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. On the iPad, click on the app called Flashcardlet Click on Flashcards Choose Integer Vocabulary Choose Study in lower right corner of pop-up box. Select New Study Session Select Random Order and Not Filtered (Do not select anything else) Click on Start Studying at the bottom Read the definition and guess the vocabulary word. To check your answer, tap the card. To go to the next card, swipe up from the bottom of the card to throw it to the back. Do not click the check or the star on the card . This task uses: Flashcardlet app Learning Objective(s): Students will use flashcards to practice integer vocabulary. 2 4-5 TEACHER NOTES: Teacher must create Vocabulary list in advance. Teacher’s name/ Amy Lorenz/ School: DeQuincy Middle Louisiana State Standard: 7.NS.A.1 Grade Level/Subject: 7th Math Special Directions/Considerations: Can be used as whole group or individually. Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: 6-7 11

2 a What’s The Rate? Using Braining Camp website with an online game.
AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement. Using Braining Camp website with an online game. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Go to Solve to find the rate. Use the whiteboard feature to work the problem. You may use a calculator and the bottom of this card for scratch paper. Click on the letter next to the answer, then click submit to check your work. Now click next. Work through all 10 questions. When completed, use the Snipping Tool to “snip” the entire question box. Click “File”, “Save As”. Click on “Desktop”. Rename the picture with your first name, last initial (Example: tiffanyc.png) and click save. Log into Blackboard and go to the MS Math Dept., Impact 2015, Day 1, Activity 3: Experience the Model Lesson, 7th Grade Model Lesson, Finding Rates Quiz Pictures to upload you picture in Discussion Board. This task uses: Snipping Tool Learning Objective(s): Students will solve real-world problems to find unit rates. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher will create a Desktop Shortcut for the Braining Camp Rates Questions. Teacher will create a Discussion Board for submitting pictures. Teacher’s name/ Tiffany School: SJ Welsh Middle School Louisiana State Standard: 7.RP.1 Grade Level/Subject:7TH grade Math Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: Students should be familiar with using the snipping tool. Students should be familiar with Blackboard.

3 It’s Game On! With Unit Rate
MODIFICATION Technology allows for a significant task redesign. Are you getting value for your money? Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Open Chrome, enter the URL provided by your teacher. This will take you to your Stoodle room. You and your partner will work in the box that matches the color of your URL. Solve the problem shown. Show your work in the box. You may use a calculator. You may use the bottom of this card for scratch paper if necessary. Check your work by scanning the QR code with the I-nigma app. If you got the answer right, check one other group’s work and put your initials in their box. Go to the Math is Fun shortcut on the desktop. You will have a choice of US unit or metric. Choose US units. Working with your partner, compare unit prices by finding which is the "best buy". The "Unit Price" (or "unit cost") tells us the cost per liter, per kilogram, per pound, etc, of what we want to buy. This task uses: I-nigma App Learning Objective(s): Students will find unit rates using real-world problems. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher may want to create a desktop shortcut for the Math is Fun website. Teacher’s name/ Tiffany School: SJ Welsh Middle School Louisiana State Standard: 7.RP.1, 7.RP.2 Grade Level/Subject:7TH grade Math Special Directions/Considerations: Teacher will create “Rooms” in Stoodle using problems from Math is Fun Unit Price Game. Each room has a unit rate problem. The room is divided into fourths so that 8 students can work in a room. Each set of students will use a different color to do their work. Teacher must create QR codes containing answers. Activity Evaluation: Prerequisites for students: Students should be familiar with Stoodle.

4 How will the problem be explained
You are the Teacher! REDEFINITION Technology allows for new tasks, previously inconceivable. Students will use original videos to teach one integer operation to fellow students. Follow the directions below to complete the activity. With your group choose an integer operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division) to teach. Plan how you want to teach the operation. (How you will explain the operation to other students) You have to use the rules, but can also use a number line modeling method or an integer card game to help explain. You must also show examples. Be creative. Ex: Make a rhyme, or song. Using the planning sheet below, plan and gather the tools needed to complete the video to teach the integer operation. With the iMovie app, create a MOVIE teaching your integer operation. Remember to save your movie by listing hour first, chosen integer operation, and group number. Example: 3hr. Addition G4 Use the Send Anywhere app to transfer your iMovie to the computer. Log into Blackboard, and upload your video as a File in the Discussion Board entitled Integer Video. Watch another math class’ video and follow instructions on thread to give feedback on their video. This task uses: iMovie App Send Anywhere App Learning Objective(s): Students will create videos that teach one of the integer operations, view peer’s videos from other classes and give feedback. Integer Operation Problem to be used How will the problem be explained TEACHER NOTES: An iMovie handout for first time use is included. The Send Anywhere app should be on the iPad. Teacher’s name/ Amy School: DeQuincy Middle Louisiana State Standard: 7.NS.A.1 and 7.NS.A.2 Grade Level/Subject: 7th Grade Math Special Directions/Considerations: I would definitely let my students work as partners or trios. Could be used as a class project or as extra credit. Activity Evaluation: Peer Feedback using Blackboard Discussion Board. Prerequisites for students: Students must have an intermediate knowledge of using iMovie. Students must have basic knowledge for using Send Anywhere and a working knowledge of Blackboard.

5 How To Make An iMovie ? On the iPad, click on the iMovie app.
Tap + in the right corner to start a new movie. Choose the Movie Choose a movie theme with graphics and fonts. Click the blue Create in the upper right corner.
