John of Fordun John of Fordun was a Priest from Aberdeen Cathedral and his main book is known as The Chronicles of the people of Scotland Not only did he write The Chronicles of the people of Scotland but he also wrote many other articles and a combination of his articles and sections of his book were included in Scotichronicon compiled by Walter Bower

The Chronicles of the people of Scotland
The Chronicles is split up into 6 books of which books 5 and 6 are suspected to have been written first Book 5 covers Scotland from 1057 to 1153 Book 6 is regarded as the continuation of Book 5 and is called Gesta annalia and continues on from 1153 up to 1363 Books 1, 2 and 3 are known as the legendry books and Book 4 is

Scotichronicon The first 5 and part of the 6th book in Scotichronicon were all written by John of Fordun and include many of his works from The Chronicles of the People of Scotland compiled along with many other articles he had written at the time. The books were almost entirely written in Latin and out of the two chroniclers John is regarded as the more competent despite writing the lesser amount of the chronicles.
