Parking at Ave Claudio Canto (passed Park Royal Hotel) From there free Shuttle to Marina. Drop off near north entrance (the first entrance coming from he city) Bike Bike to Marina. After Ave Claudio Canto, please use Service Road on the right hand side.

12 Bike Check – entering Athlete’s Lounge
Refer to 5.2 in competition rules Handle bars with clips-on Wheels and spare wheels Bike frame Saddle position ( -5 cm ≤ Men & -2 cm ≤ Women ) - Random 25% Approved exceptions on ITU website: - Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the TD at the end of the athletes’ briefing - Mechanic service available

Uniform & race gear check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) – photos taken of each uniform Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! Decals check (both arms, both legs) Timing chip distribution (1 for the ankle) Swim cap distribution Gear transported from pontoon to lounge; use the bag sticker

14 Check-in procedures Transition Area
Helmet check - Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1 Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike The bike must be racked in the first transition by the rear wheel and in the second transition in any direction Spare wheels to be checked at athlete’s lounge

17 Pre-Start Procedure Athlete Introduction
10 minutes before start - line-up in Swim start Area Last minute gears will be transferred to athlete’s lounge As introduced jog to the swim start area Select your position, remain there and stay behind the line! Blocking two positions – immediate DSQ

18 Start Procedure Athletes in position The start can be given any time after the TD announces ”On your mark” Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1.

19 False Start Procedure False start Several horn blasts
Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his spot Valid Start but with Early Starters: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. (During the time penalty, athlete cannot touch any of their equipment!)

- Air temperature: 28 °C Pontoon Start, distance to the first turn buoy 200m 1 laps (total distance of 1500 m) – counter- clockwise Yellow buoy for turning Orange buoy for sighting Pass last yellow buoy on your left shoulder (yellow) Swim behavior will be closely monitored, inc. video. Take wetsuit, cap, goggles to transition into your box.

All wheels will be returned to Sponsor after the event. ITU collects all wheels post-race and returns them to the wheel stop area and/or Elite Athlete Lounge. The wheels that need to be provided are: -2x 700c 10 cassette Campagnolo speed wheels -4x 700c front wheel -2x 700c 11 cassette Shimano rear wheels -2x 700c 10 cassette Shimano rear wheels Triathlon International de Genève

31 It is allowed to put ice packs or a water bottle inside the box.
Transition It is allowed to put ice packs or a water bottle inside the box. Option A: drink and put back into the box Option B: drink and carry to first littering zone to drop it there Triathlon International de Genève

35 Run Penalty Box The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike, TA2 and littering e..x.: Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: before turn into the narrow road leading to transition / finish Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board) Procedure: 15 seconds time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don’t stop it will result in DSQ

36 Post race procedure Photo-finish
No congestion in finish area: go to mixed zone/recovery area For Top 3: - Medal Ceremony - Media “Mixed Zone” Dress “up” – with race uniform (or country clothes) coaches assistance needed: Ambush marketing rules apply Race caps/visors are allowed at the podium with maximum 1 sponsor logo with maximum height 4cm & total area 20cm² Pick up your bike after your race

37 Ambush Marketing Ambush marketing is defined as:
“Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand.” The consequence for this behavior is: The athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, if any Please follow the ambush marketing rules

38 Post-race procedure Doping Control Team Medical Access
Photo ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing Team Medical Access Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent after ITU Medical Delegate’s permission. Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation, but for team doctors only! Team doctors should register with the ITU Medical Delegate (Dr. Humberto Aguilar)

39 Coaches Areas Accreditation
Accreditations will be distributed to those that have been entered through the online system from their NF Four designated Coaches’ Areas near: Swim pre-start area Penalty Box Next to Wheel Station 2 (neutral) Transition

40 Coaches Run Course Measurement
One coach per NF as well as members of the Coaches’ committee are allowed to have access on the run course for 45minutes on Wednesday, Sept 14 from 15:00 to 15:45 Vests are provided to these coaches by Chief Transition All the coaches will meet at Transition and start at the same time from the same start point – near dismount line Coaches who require this access must register with the registration TO’s following the athletes’ briefing

41 IMPORTANT NOTES In case of a contigency, for example delay of start:
Athletes will be informed depending on time to start: - via coaches - in the Lounge by officials - in transition / start via PA system Accreditation - need to show to come into the venue

42 IMPORTANT NOTES Littering zones 40m before / 160m after
If you do bike training sessions, please wear your helmet and beware of the cars on the road Prize Money will be ITU Bank transferred (ITU form) Anyone wishing to use a Go Pro must register this interest with the Race Referee immediately after the briefing, and agree to abide by the conditions applied. This includes the familiarization and Race.
