President’s Day Program:
Today’s Events: President’s Day Program: 12:00 Families and students meet in the cafeteria for a cookout. Principal Geary and Miss Haan will be serving hotdogs and hamburgers. 1:00 Family and friends gather in the library to look at the student's displays as they stand in front of their poster dressed as their president of choice. 2:30 Family and friends can find a seat in the gym to watch the President’s Day Program. Opening Skit with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln “The Presidents” song Facts about our presidents “Who Chopped Down the Cherry Tree” song Persuasive speeches by some of our own! “Grand Old Flag” song Closing Skit signing the declaration of Independence “My country ‘Tis of Thee” song Our Production: In honor of Presidents Day, the 2nd graders at Arlington Elementary spent a week learning about the United States presidents. They each picked one president, did some research, and put together a poster to show others what they learned. They also prepared a short program that will entertain the audience with a few songs, skits, and facts about our presidents. We hope you enjoy today’s events as we honor our nation’s presidents.
