3. What is a Hike?
A means to travel by foot – we hiked along the trail around the pond
A walk or march a great distance, especially through rural areas, for pleasure, exercise, military training, or the like.
Walking, often among hills or mountains, as recreational sport. It represents an activity in its own right and also figures in backpacking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

8. Cub Scouting 8 – 11 ½ years old
Overnight camping by Tiger Cub, Wolf, and Bear Cub Scout dens, as dens, are not approved
Tiger Cubs, with an adult partner, may participate in excursions, day camps, pack overnighters, council-organized family camping, or resident camping.
Tiger Cubs, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Scouts may participate in a resident overnight camping program under BSA National Camping School – trained leader and managed by the council.

9. Cub Scouting 8 – 11 ½ years old
A Webelos Scout may participate in overnight den camping, on approved trips, and with troop campouts, when supervised by an adult, with the Webelos Scout being accompanied by and supervised by his parent or guardian.

11. Boy Scouts - 11 to 18 years old
All registered Boy Scouts are eligible to participate in troop or patrol overnight campouts, camporees, and resident camps.

12. Boy Scouts & Varsity Scouts
Those 12 – 17 years old are eligible to participate in nation jamborees.
Those 13 – 17 years old are eligible to participate in world jamborees and high-adventure programs.

13. Venturing
14 – 21 years old are to participate in crew, district, council, and national Venturing activities, as well as national high-adventure programs and world Jamborees.
