Union Dues Union Dues – Deducted from 16 paychecks from Sept 30 through May 15 Last year’s amount was $ per year or $51.85 per pay period. This amount will probably increase slightly for this year. Can do fair share which is 85% of regular

Personnel Files Personnel files – available to individuals during regular business hours to review with one week’s written notice. An Association representative can be present when you review your file. Includes evaluations and files relating to the individual teacher – contracts, application, transcripts, lane change paperwork, etc

Licensure Licensure – You must have a valid license as of the first staff development day of the school year or at any time during the school year. Licenses expire on June 30. Get your renewal done early. Applying for your renewal license is done on- line. Continuing Ed Committee approves clock hours.

Licensure If you have a variance, a limited license, a restricted license or a special license and your license will expire by the end of the fiscal year (June 30), you will need to renew your license prior to June 1 or you will be non- renewed as of the first board meeting in June.

Pay Salary Schedules are in the Master Agreement
Master Agreement can be found on the district website – under Quick Links on left side- Human Resources – Agreements – Certified Make sure that you are being paid on the proper lane based on the number of credits you have taken and your degree.

Lane Change An official transcript is needed for your file.
Prior approval – for any credits you take after you have been hired, you must get prior approval from your building principal and the Superintendent. Pre-approval forms are on website under Staff – Forms – Course Pre-Approval - fillable form. The credits must be germane to your teaching assignment.

Lane Change Credits for Lane Change – credits for an administrative degree will not be approved for a lane change since they are not germane to your teaching assignment. Need 15 quarter credits for a lane change Lane changes – full year by Sept 15 Lane change – half year by Jan 15

Lane Change Contract reads that you must meet with the Director of Business Services prior to receiving approval for your lane change. But the meeting can be waived by the Director of Business Services. Pay days are the 15th & last day of the month.

403b(b) Match District has a 403(b) Match.
There is no match for probationary employees. Probationary employee – 3 years if you have not been tenured in another MN school district. 1 year if you have been tenured in Minnesota. Currently match is $500-$2000 depending upon years in district.

Fringe Benefits Health Insurance – Current district contribution is $6,150 for single and $11,980 for family. Three options available - $200 CMM, $500 CMM and High Deductible – Consumer Driven Health Plan The Consumer Driven Health Plan may be coupled with a HSA or a VEBA.

Fringe Benefits Dental Insurance – Current district contribution is $480 for single, $1,105 for dependent and $1,275 for family w/ortho – there is no employee deduction – the entire cost is paid by the school district. The carrier is Delta Dental.

Fringe Benefits Life Insurance - $50,000 term life policy paid by district. Long Term Disability – eligible after 90 calendar days fully paid by district. There is no Short Term Disability.

Disability (Sick) Leave
Starting year – 10 days Second year – 12 days Third year and after – 15 days Accrues monthly from Sept through June. A teacher may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a physician as evidence of illness. District uses Absence Management (formerly AESOP) sub calling system to record absences.

Disability Leave Teachers have a common disability leave bank.
Teachers who have exhausted their disability leave may make withdrawals based upon approval by CLEM Committee. Each teacher will contribute 1 day when the leave bank is nearing depletion.

Worker’s Comp It’s important to report all work related injuries as soon as possible to your supervisor and to Julie Willeck at the District Office – via phone or at

Bereavement Leave Up to 4 days shall be allowed for a death in the teacher’s immediate family or in the case of the teacher’s spouse or surviving parent – 5 days will be allowed. Immediate family – spouse, grandparent, parent, child, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew or other relative living in your household plus your spouse’s immediate family.

Bereavement (Others) Bereavement for friends and other family not defined as immediate. Up to 2 days per school year. Deducted from individual’s disability leave account. Immediate family bereavement leave is not deducted from sick leave.

Child Care Leave Application to Superintendent two months prior to commencement of intended leave. Up to a year can be granted. District may adjust the leave to coincide with natural breaks. Can utilize the disability leave bank for maternity leaves – 6 weeks or 8 weeks – once every three years.

Personal Leave Maximum of 2 days per year, accumulate up to 5 days
Automatic carryover of 3 days plus the 2 days you receive – you can only have 5 days total District buys back days over 3 $150 per day – paid on June 30 Submit request 3 days in advance, maximum # gone per bldg – 5% or 3 Cannot take during first and last 5 days of school

Jury Duty You need to serve on jury duty if you are called.
Teachers are no longer exempt. District will pay you your regular daily rate of pay for jury duty. The amount you receive from the courts will be deducted from your paycheck. You will receive a notice prior to a deduction being taken.

Emergency Closings Current contract reads that school can be closed for 3 days before the time is made up. You can sign up with the WCCO, KARE 11 or FOX 9 to get alerts when school is closed. The district uses School Messenger to contact staff, parents and students via , cell phone and home phone. Remember to update your cell phone number and/or your home phone number.

Vacancies An will be sent out to all certified staff when certified vacancies occur in the district. If interested in a vacancy, apply on Applitracks – fill out your name and the current position you have in the district on Applitracks. You will need to submit a letter of interest and your Applitracks application.

Salary Schedules Check the Salary Schedule (Schedule B) for to make sure you are placed correctly on the salary schedule. If you feel that an error has been made, please contact Heide Miller immediately.
