The Rules! Choose one of the habitats:
taiga, ocean, grassland, wetland, pond, desert, or forest * Write your habitat at the top of your paper Every group starts with 100 points – add or subtract each round according to the environmental conditions Keep track of the abiotic and biotic factors that are mentioned in the game

Round 1 An increase in atmospheric CO2 causes an increase in plants.
Everyone but the desert ADD 50 POINTS.

Round 2 There has been a decrease in temperatures worldwide all living things are affected. Taiga AND Desert ADD 60 POINTS. EVERYONE ELSE SUBTRACT 20 POINTS.

Round 3 A fire spreads across the southern U.S. sending animals running and destroying plants. Forest, Taiga, Grassland SUBTRACT 50 POINTS. Desert SUBTRACT 10 POINTS.

Round 4 Global Warming has caused temperatures to steadily increase. All animals/plants, except in the desert, thrive. ADD 60 POINTS.

Round 5 Hurricane season hits extra hard this year, animals die.
Ocean SUBTRACT 60 POINTS. Everyone else SUBTRACT 30 POINTS.

Round 6 The increase in sand in the soil decreases the amount of vegetation. Taiga, Grassland, and Forest SUBTRACT 50 POINTS.

Round 7 Acid rain continues for 3 days straight and wild life decreases. Ocean, Wetland, and Pond SUBTRACT 50 POINTS. Everyone else SUBTRACT 30 POINTS.

Round 8 Steady sunlight increases plant growth.
ADD 40 POINTS to everyone but the desert.

Round 9 Extreme wind tears shallow rooted plants.
SUBTRACT 60 POINTS Grassland, Wetland and Desert. SUBTRACT 10 POINTS Forest.

Round 10 Consistently cloudy skies kill plants.
SUBTRACT 80 POINTS everyone!
