9. FOSS Science Curriculum
The adoption of FOSS Next Gen completes our alignment with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Fall: Earth/Space Science Winter: Physical Science Spring: Life Science *Engineering challenges are embedded within units

10. State Assessment
All 3rd – 5th grade students will take the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in May and June.
English Language Arts
Mathematics
All 5th grade students will take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) in the spring.

11. Friendly Reminders
Attendance and on-time arrival is essential to student learning. Thank you for making sure your child is at school each day and for the full duration of the day.
The Eastgate website is regularly updated. Please check this website as well as the PTA website for up to date information.
Parent conferences will be conducted in October and November. This will be a time for you and the teacher to meet to discuss your child’s progress.
Tonight is intended to be informational. Curriculum night ends at 7:30 pm.
