1 and Introductions. What is the experience level of the group?

2 Project Overview An on-going project provides training and assistance to 12 tribes in consolidating, validating and flowing water quality monitoring data to WQX via the Ambient Water Quality Monitoring System (AWQMS).

3 Project Overview The project has made data analysis tools available for supporting and defending local environmental decisions. This presentation will discuss the project goals, progress made, and where we are heading.

4 Project Overview Provide all participating Tribes/Pueblos with the tools and training to successfully: Assess Manage Analyze Share Their Water Quality, Habitat Assessment, and Biological Data.

5 Project Overview Satisfy their 106 obligation in submitting data to WQX on a continuing basis. Conduct bi-annual AWQMS training for all Tribes and Pueblos. Provide support to the Tribes and Pueblos in regards to their AWQMS use.

8 Project Accomplishments
Annual AWQMS Trainings have taken place in Albuquerque, NM since 2014: 2-3 day trainings review all things AWQMS in a 1-on-1 atmosphere with Gold Systems. A BIG thank you to the Sandia Casino & Resort – HR Training Center for graciously providing us a center to host the trainings for the last 3 years.

9 Project Accomplishments
On-site training include: 1-on-1 assessment of each Tribe’s data and it’s status in AWQMS/WQX. Giving the user the tools and know-how on how to manage, QA, assess, and analyze their data in AWQMS.

10 Project Accomplishments
On-site training include: Various presentations on entering (and submitting) habitat data, biological data, and all water chemistry to WQX. Overview of AWQMS enhancements that give greater and more useful functionality In the system for it’s users.

11 Project Accomplishments
The overall goal of these trainings is to ensure all participating Tribes/Pueblos have a full understanding of the system, and are submitting their data regularly to WQX. Because of this, ENIPC AWQMS Consortium members spend less time worrying about submissions to WQX, and more time making informed water quality decisions.

12 Project Accomplishments

13 Project Accomplishments
ENIPC AWQMS ‘Fast-Facts’: 187,534 Results recorded in AWQMS Most have been submitted to WQX Over 17,000 results added in the last year Average last submission date is 10/2016

14 AWQMS: An Exchange Network Success Story
More Result data in WQX than via any other single source 17% of Result data in WQX flowed to WQX via AWQMS

15 AWQMS: An Exchange Network Success Story
73 tribal water quality programs flow data to WQX using AWQMS. 31% of tribal water quality programs that flow data to WQX, are using AWQMS

16 AWQMS: An Exchange Network Success Story
188 organizations use AWQMS to flow data to WQX. 26% of Organizations that flow data to WQX, are using AWQMS!

17 AWQMS Features Implemented by ENIPC
Major User Interface Upgrade in AWQMS 4.0 (now 5.6) AWQMS data analysis tools updates Maps Graphs Reports QA/QC AWQMS database optimization updates Dataset loading menu updates Data analysis optimization

22 Ongoing Project Tasks Data analysis improvements
Better Support Biological Data Better Support Habitat Assessment Data Better Support for Continuous Data Improved SP-14b support Data Entry Improvements Coordination with Laboratories to streamline the process from Lab to AWQMS. Streamline the Consolidating/Importing of Probe/Data Logger Data. Rapid entry form templates and import configuration templates in support of vegetation counts and vegetation individual sample measurements (in support of wetlands).

23 AWQMS Strategic Plan Continuous Monitoring Data
Ability for dataset “adjustments” Add flexibility in periodic summaries sent to WQX EPA Central Sensor Catalog Become a “Data Appliance”

24 AWQMS Strategic Plan Assessments
Capture & Manage Assessments Tied to Water Quality data Submit assessments to ATTAINS via Exchange Network

25 AWQMS Strategic Plan Integrated Data Review Process Review dataset
Software assisted identification of potential issues Set Result Status Individually or as a Batch (Preliminary, Reject, Final, etc.)

26 AWQMS Strategic Plan Event Analysis Capture and manage “events”
During data analysis be able to visualize data in context of events
