In a national survey study that involved organizations from the United States and Canada (1,071 responses):
The average goal for a capital campaign was $45 million and the median was $10 million.
Larger organizations (expenditures of $10 million and more) - 34% reported campaign goals of over $55 million
Smaller organizations (expenditures less than $250,000) - 82% reported campaign goals of around $2 million or less.
