Themes studied at KHCA: A Relationships B Religion & Life C Existence of God E Crime & Punishment 1 exam paper Two questions with 10 parts each: 1 question: Christianity 1 question: Islam Questions about beliefs and practices Last questions are worth 12 marks and require an extended essay style answer.

Further Information At KHCA the GCSE course started in September
Further Information At KHCA the GCSE course started in September. Year 9 students have completed topics on Christian Beliefs. In January they began studying Christian Practices. The course will continue throughout Year 9, 10 & 11.

Mathematics GCSE Overview Exam board: AQA
3 exam papers each 1hr 30mins 80 marks per paper One non-calculator and two calculator papers

Exams will include: Around 50% of the marks are awarded for recalling information and carry out calculations. Around 25% of the marks are awarded for communicating their mathematics and making deductions from calculations. Around 25% of the marks are awarded for solving problems with mathematics in different contexts. Students will be required to learn around 20 formulae.

Science GCSE Overview Exam board: Edexcel
Combined Science – 2 GCSEs Separate Sciences – 3 GCSEs 2 biology papers 2 chemistry papers 2 physics papers 1 x 6 mark question per paper Each paper has 6 Qs and is worth 60 marks (1 hour 10 mins) 18 core practicals 2 biology papers 2 chemistry papers 2 physics papers 2 x 6 mark question per paper Each paper has 10 Qs (6 from Combined & 4 extra) and is worth 100 marks (1 hour 45 mins) 24 core practicals (8 for each science)

Exams will include: 15% of questions will be based on the core practicals 20% of the questions in combined science will be mathematical skills. 30% of the separate physics questions will be mathematical skills. In Physics you are required to LEARN around 20 equations
