Facing Force and Motion - Prezi
S Facing Force and Motion - Prezi You will use Prezi as an intro/review on Force and Motion. As you work through the Prezi, you will take answer the following questions on loose leaf. As an exit ticket please explain something that you learned or a question you have regarding the information discussed in the Prezi. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard. Click on the Websites Link posted on the left. Click on Prezi Force and Motion tab. Navigate through the Prezi. As you Navigate through the Prezi, take notes in your Science Notebook on the following: Define Force and Newton. Explain in your own words how the balloon reacted differently when put on the table and when put on the straw. What forces were different? Define Inertia. How is the raw egg different from the boiled egg in regards to force and motion? What is the acceleration of falling objects on Earth? Define net force. Define balanced forces Define unbalanced forces. EXIT TICKET – Explain something that this Prezi has clarified and you understand better or something that needs further explanation from this Prezi. Turn in your answer document for the questions on this task card. Learning Objective(s): Read and take notes using the Force and Motion Prezi. TEACHER NOTES: The Prezi requires a subscription which is free. You will need to sign up for a Prezi account. Teacher’s name/ Amanda Gentry – School: Arnett Middle School Louisiana State Standard: GLE(s): ● PS-19 – Identify forces acting on all objects (PS-M-B3) Grade Level/Subject: 6th grade Science Special Directions/Considerations: N/A Activity Evaluation: Exit Ticket and answer document from task card. Prerequisites for students: N/A

A PLICKER PLEASE Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard.
You will watch an EDPuzzle and use your Plicker cards to answer the questions presented. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard. Click on the Websites Link posted on the left. Click on EDPuzzle – Air Resistance. Watch the EDPuzzle video and take notes if needed. Once all students have completed the EDPuzzle, then we will take a Plickers Quiz. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): View the EDPuzzle video and take notes if necessary. Complete the Plicker Quiz when instructed and assess your knowledge of force and motion. TEACHER NOTES: EDPuzzle requires for the teacher to sign up. I would sign up for the EDPuzzle prior to the lesson. You also need to bring Plickers cards prior to the class and if you laminate them do not use glossy finish, use a matte finish. You can order Plickers cards from Amazon if you would prefer. Teacher’s name/ Amanda Gentry – School: Arnett Middle School Louisiana State Standard: GLE(s): ● PS-19 – Identify forces acting on all objects (PS-M-B3) ● PS-21 – Determine the magnitude and direction of unbalanced (i.e., net) forces acting on an object (PS-M-B4) Grade Level/Subject: 6th grade Science Special Directions/Considerations: N/A Activity Evaluation: Plickers Quiz Prerequisites for students: N/A

M Tellagami Teacher Open Tellagami App. Click Create
Students will use the Tellagami App to share the results of their Whirligig Activity. MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Open Tellagami App. Click Create Customize your character (mood, setting, etc.) – 10 minutes Select Camera. Position camera at your Whirligig as it is released and select camera again (this should take a picture of your whirligig and place it as a background) Select Message. Record the results of your Whirligig Experiment, explain forces acting upon your whirligig and explain your findings. Save your Tellagami and this will be saved to your camera roll. Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard. Click on Websites. Click on Tellagami Activity. Add your Tellagami to the Padlet. Choose another video from a classmate and critique the results of their experiment. Write a comment on the padlet. Repeat posting Tellagami in the Whirligig Collaboration folder in your hour folder. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Create a Tellagami video of the results of your Whirligig experiment. Use evidence to explain and communicate the results of investigations. TEACHER NOTES: The students will need to place a copy of their Tellagami in two different padlet folders. The teacher must create these Padlet’s and links on their blackboard prior to this lesson. Teacher’s name/ Amanda Gentry – School: Arnett Middle School Louisiana State Standard: GLE(s): ● PS-19 – Identify forces acting on all objects (PS-M-B3) ● PS-21 – Determine the magnitude and direction of unbalanced (i.e., net) forces acting on an object (PS-M-B4) ● SI-22 – Use evidence and observations to explain and communicate the results of investigations (SI-M-A7) Grade Level/Subject: 6th grade Science Special Directions/Considerations: Padlet link for students to load tellagami. Activity Evaluation: Tellagami video and explanation Prerequisites for students: Students need to be familiar with Tellagami, Padlet, and Blackboard.

R Padlet Previewing Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard.
Students will use the Padlet App in order to collaborate with other classes regarding their Whirligig Activity. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Log into Mrs. Gentry’s Blackboard. Click on Websites Link. Click on Whirligig Collaboration folder. Choose the hour to view their Tellagami. (1st hour – choose 7th hour, 2nd hour – choose 1st hour, 4th hour – choose 2nd hour, 5th hour – choose 4th hour, 7th hour – choose 1st hour.) Choose two Tellagami’s to view and critique. Compare their experiment and results to yours and identify any problems that may be present, or identify forces that are being acted upon the whirligig. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Compare and critique the results of investigations from other class periods. Use evidence to explain and communicate the results of investigations.
