Classroom Expectations

Student Behaviors Be prompt and prepared
Be ready to learn when class begins Have materials with you and know due dates Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate

Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect Honor and respect ideas and opinions of others Offer to help other classmates with their work Be responsible with property and belongings

Responsibility for Coursework
Bring notebook, textbook, planner, and appropriate writing tools to class. Know due dates of assignments, and submit all coursework on time. Homework assigned as needed to reinforce student comprehension of subject content These and other important dates will be posted via Google Classroom or the CH website

Promote Lifelong Learning
You can develop lifelong learning traits: By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works By seeking and valuing diversity By persisting in seeking out new solutions By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems

Classroom Policies NO cellphones or electronic devices, they are to be in student locker or 2hr. detention issued NO food and beverages allowed in classroom Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time Restroom / Hall Pass Only 3 signouts per quarter If over 3 must report to Nurse of Office Absences Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments. Each absence has a three-day grace period or marked as “0” in class participation grade Assignments and projects can be resubmitted, but scored at a 10% deduction per day late.

Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points
Points are based on: Completion of assignments Test / Quizzes Class participation Notebook Final Exam (if needed) (=1/5 of end of year grade) All efforts are taken to post grades weekly CH Grading Scale 92-100% = A 83-91% = B 74-82% = C 65-74% = D 0 - 64% = F P = Passing Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.
