NA Background Powerpoint – add to notes Respond to “The World on Turtle’s Back” w/sticky notes and chart (can use your response questions as well) Second Origin myth example – read/annotate and respond on chart – see next slide Submit annotations and chart to Ms. K

Reading Analysis Assignment
Part I: In GROUPS of 3, take turns reading the origin myth aloud: “When Grizzlies Walked Upright” From “The Navajo Origin Legend” (if get to it) Part II: As each myth is read aloud, annotate your own copy for the three characteristics of Native American origin myths (you could use a different color for each) Part III: Compare your notes with your group and complete the origin myth comparison chart INDIVIDUALLY for the stories **Each student will submit his/her own annotated myths and chart**
