1 MAN - MADE WATER BODY

2 BENEFITS!!! The sound of falling or bubbling water has long been associated with a way to relax and ease the mind. You can easily adapt elements of nature in living spaces to add a touch of serenity that soothes the senses and compliments the ambience. keep in touch with nature’s beauty and is a cheerful treat for the ears MOVEMENT is dramatic and interesting An indoor pool often becomes an aesthetic feature. Microclimate.

4 MAN – MADE WATER BODIES LAKE POND
If the water is deep enough, that light doesn’t penetrate to the bottom and photosynthesis is limited to top layer, The body of water is considered a LAKE. POND A pond is a body of water shallow enough to support rooted plants. Many times plants grow all the way across a shallow pond

5 MAN – MADE WATER BODIES WATER CASCADE WATER FALL
A small, steep waterfall; especially one that is part of a series of waterfalls WATER FALL Consists of two components: 1)the pool. 2)A feature such as fall or cascade.

6 MAN – MADE WATER BODIES WATER CHANNEL WATER WALL
This kind of feature is where water slowly trickles or cascades down from the top of the wall. The water is fed back up from a pump and tube to the top and this process continues. Note that most water walls require a filter to be installed to avoid clogging from mineral build up. 7 MAN – MADE WATER BODIES FOUNTAIN
FOUNTAIN is a piece of architecture which force water into basin, or jets it into the air to supply drinking water or for decorative purpose. A spray pool allows water to enter, get wet and cool off in summer MAJOR COMPONENTS : Pumps, filter, electrical switchbox, plumbing control, lightening for aesthetic purpose

8 MAN – MADE WATER BODIES SWIMMING POOL
A swimming pool, swimming bath, wading pool, or paddling pool is a container that is filled with water to enable swimming or other leisure activities. Pools can be sunk into the ground or built above ground  Maintanance: Pumps, mechanical sand filters, and disinfectants are often used to sanitise the water. Chemical disinfectants, such as chlorine (usually as a hypochlorite salt, are commonly used to kill pathogens. Brush the walls and floor of the swimming pool to remove as much of the algae as possible. This will greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to kill and clear the algae bloom.

9 MAKING OF LAKE/POND

10 Man made ponds generally refer to bodies of water that are built and/or are maintained by humans rather than Mother Nature. Within this broad category are a number of pond sub categories such as water gardens where the main purpose is ornamental display, fish ponds or koi ponds where the main purpose is housing or breeding fish, backyard ponds or garden ponds where the pond is used more as a landscaping feature, or industrial ponds where the purpose is to store water as part of some industrial process. EQUIPEMENTS REQUIRED: Pond Liners, Pond Pumps, Pond Filters, Pond Skimmers and Pond Lighting.

11 Pond Skimmers: Pond skimmers are a type of mechanical filter that grabs leaves and other debris off the surface of a pond POND LINERS are than lined up with dressed stones or pebbles. To give a more natural look Pond Liners : A pond liner is an impermeable geomembrane used for water retention, including the lining of lakes, garden ponds and artificial streams in parks and gardens.

12 FOUNTAIN AND CASCADE

13 HOW IT FUNCTIONS: At the very least, all successful garden water features start with some kind of Liner, or CATCH BASIN. This can be built out of some kind of plastic, fiberglass, or wooden container, which is then either buried, or left exposed depending on the look you're going for. For the most flexible solution, an actual POND LINER could be used which is almost always hidden with rocks or other landscaping features to create a more natural look. A water feature spilling into a hidden catch basin. The second essential piece of equipment needed to build a garden water feature is A PUMP of some kind. For a trickling stream, a smaller pump will naturally be required than if you're setting out to build a gushing waterfall.

14 MAKING OF STREAM

15 Dig out (or build) a long staircase
Spread the liner in the streambed  Lay the liner and position waterfall stones Map the stream and start digging Complete the lower basin first Add spill stones and foam the gaps Add gravel and clean the stream

16 FOR INFORMATION BENEFITS:
The sound of falling or bubbling water has long been associated with a way to relax and ease the mind. You can easily adapt elements of nature in living spaces to add a touch of serenity that soothes the senses and compliments the ambience. This can be done in the garden or between the four walls of a home. A stream of gurgling water like a brook can enhance the appeal of interiors. It helps one keep in touch with nature’s beauty and is a cheerful treat for the ears. So you can beat stress at the end of a hectic day right in your own home. The constant movement of water makes it both dramatic and interesting. In traditional home design, a central courtyard that is open to the sky is an attractive feature that allows nature and its elements to enhance the indoors and also results in micro climate. An indoor atrium will look beautiful with a water body and daylight streaming in from a skylight above. Large living rooms can also have fountains and waterfalls with care taken to avoid the splash of water onto walking surfaces. These elements can be synchronised with music, lighting or both to create a water body that flows in rhythm. swimming Levels of bacteria and viruses in swimming pool water must be kept low to prevent the spread of diseases and pathogens. Bacteria, algaeand insect larvae can enter the pool if water is not properly sanitized. Although this might sound like common sense, we see it far to often where a new pond builder will build a pond in some far off corner of their yard, only to neglect it because it's out of site and out of mind. It is also important to choose a spot that makes sense with respect to other features in the landscape.
