1 Branding Requirements for Alliance eLearnings
This deck outlines areas of flexibility with the Alliance PowerPoint template for eLearning projects. If the eLearning is part of a large course with many pieces, such as CCT or RCT, the eLearning template should be adapted to be similar to the PowerPoint template for the course. Branding Requirements for Alliance eLearnings

2 Title Title Title Title
Title Slide See Notes field for details Alliance blue logo and URL at upper left Top bar in one of the Alliance’s three standard blue colors Title Title Title Title Verdana Transparent versions of the Alliance logo and Alliance URL are available in the SharePoint Alliance Graphics library, so that they can be put against different Alliance colors. Variables that can be changed: Background color, and design as long as it does not clash with the top and bottom colors. However, on the title slide, a simple, light background is preferred so as to keep the Alliance logo highly visible A compelling photo is preferred on the title slide, but a different kind of image – or no image at all – is acceptable. Font size can change according to length of title and composition of graphics See for logos and banners that may help. Bottom bar has this text. Bar can be made more narrow to make room for navigation buttons. NARROW bottom bar in any of the Alliance’s six colors

Body Slide See Notes field for details Transparent versions of the Alliance logo and Alliance URL are available in the SharePoint Alliance Graphics library, so that they can be put against different Alliance colors. Upper bar is optional. However, it needs to be the same blue color as on the title slide NARROW bottom bar required: Alliance color, can be different from title slide color but must be Alliance color. Alliance logo in white or black on left side Alliance URL in white or black on right side Can be narrower than this example if more room is needed for buttons. Use Verdana except for text labels, or where emphasis or design requires a different font. (For instance, in some case, a font that looks handwritten is appropriate) These elements can vary: The colors and content in the body of the slide can be whatever is instructionally appropriate to guide and hold attention and to enhance understandability and appeal Background color and design can vary, but should not clash with top or bottom bar. The slide layout does not need to follow any of Microsoft’s suggested layouts in the template

4 Role of Branding and Instructional Design
The purpose of branding is to make it obvious on the title slide, and then to indicate on all subsequent slides, that it is an Alliance eLearning. Each eLearning is both an instructional experience and a marketing opportunity for the Alliance. Both goals need to be met, but the learning experience is much more prominent. Except for the title slide – which has the Alliance logo prominently displayed – the branding elements on each slide are restricted to the top bar and the bottom bar. Except for the top and bottom bars, instructional designers are NOT required to use only the six Alliance colors in the body of the slide.
