Important Note: On October 6, School Users will not be able to login to PVAAS when new data is first released to District Admin, District Users, School Admin Will be taken to public site May think the system is NOT working Be sure to communicate this with your key communication groups

4 2016 PVAAS Reporting Release
October 6: PVAAS district, school, and teacher reporting released to District Admin, School Admin, and District User account holders; IU Account Holders October 6: PEERS updated with PVAAS 0-3 Score (PVAAS Teacher Specific 3 yr average)  October 13: PEERS updated with SY15-16 SPP Score  October 20: PVAAS district, school, and teacher reporting released to School User account holders  November 3: PVAAS public site released

5 What’s NEW in PVAAS for 2016? Teacher Composites 0-100 and 0-3 Scales
3-Year Composites will be available for the first time Each teacher will receive either a 1-Year, 2-Year, or 3-Year composite depending on how many years of data are available for the teacher 0-100 and 0-3 Scales The Teacher List and Teacher Value-Added Summary report will list the 3-year teacher value-added composite converted to a scale The Teacher List and Teacher Value-Added Summary report will also include the 3-year teacher value-added composite converted to a 0-3 scale Data Packets - Additional Packets Added District Value Added data packet School Value Added data packet College/Career Readiness packets (summaries w/ and /wo student lists) Keystone Business Rules for PVAAS District/School and PVAAS SPP Score The rules for including students’ scores for Keystone retests have been adjusted See document on PVAAS Login page for specifics Each IU is to share with LEAs via PPT slides from PAIU Statewide System of Support August webinar

Additional Resources Section in the Help System  Links in the Help System to PVAAS Resources (Google Site)  Certificate of Completion for E-Learning Modules Available for many of the e-Learning modules These certificates will list the user's name, the name of the module, date of completion, and the amount of time spent viewing the module. The certificate will only be available to users who complete all sections of the module and complete a check for understanding (ungraded quiz) As the Certificate of Completion becomes available for a module, “Certificate of Completion available” will be added following the name of the module

22 Use of PVAAS Projections
Local LEA in western PA Achievement dropped significantly in math from to 64% proficiency in 16% proficiency in Even though a different group of students was tested, LEA not prepared for this result

23 Use of PVAAS Projections
Upon investigation, PVAAS projections in fall 2015 indicated 18% likely to reach proficiency based on historical data of those students Revealed the need to analyze the risk of students when PVAAS projections are released in the fall
