The Paralympic Games
In 1948, Sir Ludwig Guttmann, a doctor at a hospital in England, began using sport as part of his patients’ treatment. He set up a competition with other hospitals at the same time as the London Olympics in that year. Over the next ten years, the competition grew bigger and bigger, with more hospitals in England taking part.
In 1960, at the Rome Olympics, Guttmann

1). 含有双宾语的动词的被动语态
一般把间接宾语变成被动句的主语，若将直接宾语变为主语，则在间接宾语前加上介词to
或for。常用介词to的动词有：give，lend, send等；常用介词for的动词有. borrow，make, buy
My father gave me a new book on my birthday.
—I was given a new book (by my father) on my birthday.(间接宾语作主语)
A new book was given to me (by my father) on my birthday.(直接宾语作主语）

30. 2). 带有复合宾语的动词的被动语态
带有复合宾语（宾语和宾语补足语）的主动语态变为被动语态时，只需把宾语变为被动语态的主语，原来的宾语补足语成为主语补足语。同时，如果宾语补足语是省to的不定式，变为被动语态时，必须加上动词不定式符号to。这类动词有make, see, here, watch等。
