5 SA - Club Event Days No State Heat Weekends, this season allocated.
In Consultation with Key dinghy Clubs.   No Class States and no Australian Sailing Squad activity on these days. Class Associations negotiate directly with Clubs to hold their state championships and other special class events on any other dates. Easier for clubs to run their club championship series and other special club events. Minimise the number of club sailors absent due to other sailing events being held elsewhere. 10 Training Review National Target of Accredited Discover Sailing Centres developed (current= 130, Target= 200) Instructor Conferences- instead of a single national conference, these will now be held annually. Student packs have been reviewed and simplified Utilizing e-books and online resources where possible Tackers packs to be sourced from, and supplied by, Zhik, direct to the participant Sailing Coach course finalised Windsurf program to be revitalised Powerboat Handling and Safety Boat Operator courses to be consolidated into one course Green Fleet to be developed into a formal program SA CLUBS CONFERENCE JULY 2017

11 Schools Program Development
200,000 School aged children exposed to sailing via clubs over 5-year cycle. Sailing formally recognised by State Education departments as a preferred activity Primary School and Secondary School options available: Fun experience with an emphasis on introducing new participants to sailing No limitations on the type of boat that can be used by clubs for delivery Flexible in its approach and components of the program (can be delivered at a Club, at a School or a combination of the two. deliverable either inside or outside of school hours. Focuses on fun, personal development and transferable skills. Build Eenduring relationships between clubs and schools developed Clear Pathway into regular club engagement Tools and resources developed and provided by Australian Sailing to Clubs & Schools Ability to track data and participation from first contact with an individual Program specific branding SA CLUBS CONFERENCE JULY 2017

12 Sailing Coach Course Aimed at boosting a club’s capability and capacity to deliver coaching programs. Rolling out June 2017. Format: 6hrs online (pre-course) 2.5 days (face-to-face course) Target market is current instructors wanting to get into coaching + Existing non- accredited Coaches operating at Clubs and with Class Associations. Content developed by AST coaches and State Coaches including SA’s Alex Zimmermann Can promote any upcoming courses in your region. Watch video on next screen to explain further.
