1 Setting Up Your iPad

2 Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!! Login Credentials Your username when logging in to a school computer is your first initial, middle initial (if you don’t have a middle name leave this out) the 1st three letters of your last name and then the last three numbers of your student ID. Your password is your ID number. This is also what you use when logging in to PowerSchools. DVUSD is trying to make it as simple as possible so your school address, which is in Gmail, is your username followed by @learner.dvusd.org and your password here is still your ID number. Example: Kathy Marie Lukenbrook ID# School username: kmluk Password: School Password: Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. 3 All MRHS Students: Turn on Your iPad and then…
Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!! All MRHS Students: Turn on Your iPad and then… Select English Select United States Select DVUSD Mobile as your wifi network Select Enable Location services and hit Next Login in with regular school username and password: It can take anywhere from 1 minute to 24 hours for you to be placed into the system. Select “Passcode Options” at the bottom of the screen and then select 6 Digit Numeric Code. Enter your student ID. “Agree” to the Terms and Conditions. After the setup is complete select Get Started. Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!!

4 Wifi May Not Be Working For You Yet!!!!
Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!! Wifi May Not Be Working For You Yet!!!! It can take 1 minute to 24 hours before your iPad will connect properly to the Wifi network at school. Over 2000 students just set up their iPad and our network needs time to register each device. Please don’t try and switch to a different Wifi as this will only delay the process for you. Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. 6 App Store You will NOT have access to the Apple App store on your iPad
All apps must be downloaded from the DVUSD App store If your iPad software isn’t up to date, this probably won’t work Go into Settings and look on the right for “Software Update” and select that to see if you are up to date. If this needs to be done, do this at home tonight or at the end of the school day. You will find an icon to this DVUSD App store on you iPad If you delete this, you won’t be able to download ANY apps on to your iPad

7 Expectations Bring your iPad with you charged every day.
Leave your charger at home. Your battery will last all day, and that will only tempt others who are not charged to steal it. Keep your iPad in the school issued or a personal case at all times! Use your iPad for work in your class, your iPad should NOT be a distraction! You may not use it all of the time, or every day. Phones and music players are no longer needed, those need to stay IN YOUR BAG!

8 What if I break my iPad/crack the screen?
Report this to the conduct. You will turn in your iPad to be repaired and will be require to pay for the repair or make payments toward the repair cost. You may be issued another iPad while yours is being repaired if a spare is on campus.

10 What if I lose or someone steals my iPad?
Fill out an incident report immediately in conduct. Your iPad’s location can be traced in district. If it is taken out of district it will not work, so it will be useless to the thief. Then you will need to arrange to pay the replacement charge to the bookstore so that you can get a replacement iPad. You will have 45 days to pay half of the cost. Then you will have 45 days to pay the second half. Another iPad may be issued during this time period. If you purchased the Optional Protection Plan, pay the deductible and be issued a new iPad.

11 Forget a password? Apple ID password?
Look it up in your phone if you saved it Go to Ms. Milliken, Mrs Splitek, or Mr. Devenney for help. G-mail password? Its your student ID number 6 Digit passcode? Try 3 or 4 times ONLY, then notify your teacher or your iPad will be PERMANENTLY locked

12 If the iPad isn’t working properly
The first thing you should do is reboot the iPad, not turn it off and on, reboot it. To do this simply hold down the home AND power button down. You will see it turn off and keep holding until you see the Apple icon show up. If this doesn’t help, put in a help desk ticket by going to the MRHS website, select For Students, Ipads, then iPad Student Help Ticket

School Set up your school **This is needed to get your new Apple ID** Go to Settings Select Mail and then Accounts Select Add Account Select Google Enter your school address and hit next. Example: Enter your password and hit next: student ID **If you didn’t get this please and tell him your first and last name. He will get you Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!!

14 Setting Up Your Apple ID and iCloud

Setting Up Your Apple ID and iCloud You should have an from Apple to set up your new Apple ID. *If you didn’t get this please and tell him your first and last name. He can get another sent out to you. The will show you our new Apple ID is & give a temp. password. Go to the setting app on your iPad again and in the upper left corner select “Sign in to your iPad” or select iCloud. Enter your Apple ID and the temporary password. It will ask you to create a new password. It must contain a capital letter, be 8 digits long and include a number. ** DO NOT USE YOUR PERSONAL APPLE ID OR THE ONE FROM LAST YEAR ** Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!!

15 If you didn’t get your iPad today

If you didn’t get your iPad today For those of you who didn’t get your iPad for one reason or another . . . You must have a signed DVUSD iPad user agreement SIGNED. If your iPad was broken, lost, or stolen, you MUST have a receipt that shows you have paid for the repair/replacement. Go to to find a link on the MRHS homepage or use the QR code to sign up for a time slot and day to request an iPad Do NOT show up to the media center before school, during lunch, or after school, you will be asked to do #3 above Make sure you have purchased your Device Protection Plan from the Bookstore. You have the 1st two weeks of school to get this done!!!
