Standards for Accreditation for Oklahoma Schools
Standard VI Student Services OAC 210: (c) 4 Counseling and guidance services shall be coordinated and shall work cooperatively with other school staff, community resources, and other educational entities. Additional Standards for CareerTech/ Comprehensive Secondary Schools OAC 210: (a) (3) The technology center guidance staff coordinates services with guidance and counseling staff from partner schools, higher education institutions, and other agencies through planned informational meetings, correspondence, and /or other communications. (c) The sending school guidance program shall complement and coordinate with those services available in the technology center counseling, assessment, staff consulting, educational and occupational planning, and follow-up activities.

Local Plans Professional development
Career guidance and academic counseling describe how career guidance and academic counseling will be provided to career and technical education students, including linkages to future education and training opportunities; Community awareness strategies Teacher recruitment

Consortiums Representatives from each school meet with intention to determine goals of the Perkins application. Team determines the local student and industry needs within the consortium and then leverages the money to meet those needs.

Who- Any school or consortium that receives Carl Perkins funding What- Your innovative ideas for 7th -12th grade When- Check each spring – get your user name and password now and start making plans How- Complete application

Remember Your school cannot use this grant money to supplant services your school already has in place. Once you receive the grant and services are in place, you should be able to sustain the work without the grant money.

Career Development Ipads/Surfaces with charging cart for school counselors to use OKCareerGuide.org with students, and track services through the school counseling program Purchased the National Student Clearing House student tracker program to gain cohort follow-up data on students postsecondary transitions and completions Training day for OK Career Guide. Grant funded professional development and paid for substitutes. All teachers attended training on career development tool that could be used throughout core and elective subjects Teacher As Advisors training/professional development Galaxy – Elementary component is Fall 2016 Journey components will stay the same, smoother format to access them.
