Individual, small and whole group work with share time and facilitated support and information 1. Share time What I know about Rotary What I’d like to find out about Rotary 2. The principles and philosophies of Rotary 3. Rotary Priorities and Goals 4. Avenues of Service 5. Rotary Clubs 6. Becoming a Rotarian 1. Personal Introductions: Participants record 3 significant things about Rotary and 1 thing they would like to find out about on Post-it-notes. These are posted on a large Post-It Sheet and will be collated at the end of the seminar and ed out. Things to find out about will be checked at the end of the session 7. Closing Remarks and thanks – District Governor 6. Discuss roles and responsibilities of members – opportunities for leadership, committee work, attendance, payment of dues, standards of behaviour/ethics Key Questions: What aspects of Rotary will help you become a Rotarian? What do you think Rotarians do that members may not do? 2. Key Questions: Why are these important? How are they applied in your clubs? Rotary Motto/s Core Values Objects of Rotary 4 Way Test Annual Theme Declaration of Rotarians in Business and professions 3. Introduce the concept of Forward Thinking and Planning and its significance to RI, Foundation, District 9800 and Rotary Clubs. Invite participants to nominate 3 Priorities after considering the needs of their Clubs and their perceptions of RI as a Service organisation. Inform them of the 3 RI and District priorities. 5. Share time in small groups Describe your Club – size, demographics, meetings, program communications, fellowship etc. What does it do well? How could it be improved? Introduce the concept of “autonomy” and discuss its relevance. 4. Identify the 5 Avenues of Service: Participants share what they know about them including the focus of each and their associated Programs and any Avenue Projects, activities or events conducted by their own clubs.
