(Useful if you like a quiz, and want to see variations of it.) Creating a quiz, part 2

9 Playing a Quizizz Step 2: Live or Homework?
Quizizz supports 2 modes for conducting a game, live and homework. Ideal for an in-class review session. Game automatically ends when all the students have completed. Students need to complete in one sitting, they cannot resume a game later. Has a “Live Results” dashboard while the game is running. Ideal for a homework assignment. You can set a deadline up to 2 weeks into the future. Game automatically ends at the deadline. Students can resume a half-done assignment later. Creating a quiz, part 2 Both Live and Homework game data will show up in the “My Reports” tab

10 Use these settings to adjust the level of competition and fun.
Playing a Quizizz Step 3: Quiz Settings Use these settings to adjust the level of competition and fun. Jumble Questions order for each student Jumble Answers for each question Show Answers after questions Show Quiz Review on student devices at the end of the quiz Show Leaderboard Question Timer: If ON, students get 600 points for correct + up to 400 time bonus, 0 points for wrong answers. If this is turned OFF, students will get 1000 points for correct, and 0 for wrong. Show memes (the funny pictures after questions) Play Music on student devices Creating a quiz, part 2; settings give you the option to jumble so students do not have questions in the same order

11 Ask your students to open Enter their name/nickname
Playing a Quizizz Step 4: Share Code TEACHER’S SCREEN STUDENT’S SCREEN Ask your students to open and Enter the GAME CODE Enter their name/nickname Once you click PROCEED on the customization page, your 5 digit GAME CODE is shown on the screen. Creating a quiz, part 2; another option is to link the code to Google Classroom by creating an assignment or announcement. Then students only have to click on the link and once you end the game, remember to delete it off Google Classroom, the code will not work once you end the game. On the purple screen there are three bars on the left, when clicked the students can click the music off, change the language and change the themes (the themes are classic, winter, jungle and space). The memes are different for the themes.

12 If you are playing a homework game, it will already be started.
Playing a Quizizz Step 4: GO!!! If you are playing a homework game, it will already be started. For a live game, once students have joined, click “START GAME” to begin your Quizizz! Creating a quiz, part 2; students will usually get the same “monster” if they type their name exactly the same TIP 1: Click on a student’s name/icon to kick them out of the game if required. TIP 2: Students can join a live game after the quiz begins also, so you can get started even if a few students are yet to join.

13 Playing a Quizizz Step 5: Realtime Feedback
For live games, you will see realtime updates of student-level progress, as well as the number of right/wrong answers on a question-level. Homework games also have a report that gives you all the same data. Creating a quiz, part 2; this is the screen that shows up on your computer or device while the game is live. Tip 1: The game automatically ends once all the students have completed all the questions. Tip 2: Use the student progress graph to see how much each student has left to do. Tip 3: You can also end the game any time by clicking “End Game”.

14 Playing a Quizizz Step 6: View/Save Data
You can also download a more detailed Excel report of the data from the report page. Creating a quiz, part 2; Another great reason for Quizizz, the data collection from each game turned into a spreadsheet. Can use the data to analyze their progress on the objective being reviewed.

20 How can I use Quizizz? Super-fun review sessions!
Quick tests and pop-quizzes Conducting a quiz, 3 easy steps; it is different than Kahoot because the questions are on the student’s device (laptop, Chromebook or iPad) and you can set the time up to 15 minutes for each question. I had students become frustrated with Kahoot because there wasn’t enough time and I prefer Quizizz now in order to set more time. Self-paced classwork Homework with a twist!
