3 Background International Collaboration becomes popular in tokamak research. The on-site model, is not fit for the more frequent international collaboration. The remote participation will be a new solution to an efficient and economical international collaboration. The international collaboration becomes popular in tokamak research. Traditional Model, which has to spend much money and time on international travel, 3 3

4 System Scope & Context Remote Participation System is an integrated platform to supervisory and access EAST Data remotely. 4

5 Main Objective of First Step
To design and implement a structure of the remote participation system. To focus on engineering data Engineering Data Features From Engineering System(Eg. Vacuum, Cryogenic, Magnet Coil Diagnostic System , 300+), Central Control system(50),Central Interlock system(50) DIO or Sample Rate <=10Hz Data Sample Range: long time 24*7 To provide a technical proposal to access EPICS PV via Internet. NoSql Database Messaging Server 5

7 System Architecture & Technology Stack
7

8 EPCIS PV-data Generator
Main Function To provide different types (AI,AO,DI,DO,WAI…) of PVs to simulate data from central control, central interlock and engineering system. Developed with ITER CODAC Core System V4.3 8

9 PV Data Archive Main Function To dump PV Data to NoSql Database
To publish PV Data to JMS Server 9

10 Redis Database Redis : An open source, key-value cache and store.
Redis is an in-memory but persistent on disk database Performance Test: Server: Dell R720, Intel Xeon E Hz, Centos 6.5 Client: iMac, Intel Core i7 3.4GHz, Mac OS Redis: Version 2.8 10

11 Redis Data Service Main Function:
To provide remote services of redis database access. String: The most basic kind of value and binary safe. Max 512Mb in length. List: Simply lists of strings, sorted by insertion order. To add elements on the head (left)or on the tail(right) of the list. 11

12 Message Service Main function
Push PV Value to a JMS Server as a Topic message. Flex Client receive the value message by subscript the topic. JMS Server : Apache Activemq 5.5 Model : Topic & Non-Persistence 12

13 JMS Server Performance
Based on the third party test report : k/index.html Throughput :10 Producers, 10 destinations, 10 consumers 13

14 Flex UI Components Text LED Operation State Dash Board Pop Window 14

15 Video Service Red5-Apache licensed Stream Media Server
Stream Video: FlV Protocols: RTMP 15

16 Security Main Function Register & Retrieve Password
User Id must be the address from confirmed mall domain Confirmation Authentication & Authorization Spring Security Roles: Administrator & User Prevent brute force password attacks Limit Login Attempts Verification Code 16

20 Summary Implement a integrated platform structure for Remote Participation. Provide a technology proposal to access EPICS PV via Internet. Provide Remotely Engineering Data & Stream Video access function. 20

21 Next Step Work will focus on Long-distance Data transfer in the future. International bandwidth is a bottleneck. In Normal times : 140Mb/s During EAST Campaign: 500Mb/s Commercial solution was too expensive for us. Hardware based data reduction may be a possible solution to improve the efficiency of the data transmission. Compress De-duplication 21

23 Acknowledgement This work is supported by the National Magnetic Confinement Fusion Research Program of China under Grant No. 2012GB and 2011GB 23

24 Thanks! 24
