A noun is a person, place, or thing.
These are examples of nouns: person cat pencil school Marie ocean game tree street park car mother Can you name some other nouns?

Proper nouns are nouns that name a specific person, place, or thing.
These are examples of proper nouns: Mount Rainier National Park Ford Motor Company Alexander the Great Great Britain Caucasus Mountains The International Red Cross The first letter of a proper noun is capitalized.

Some pronouns are used to show possession of something. These pronouns have to come before another noun. For example: my dog its collar his book her school their house your car whose bicycle
