What We’re Learning
Can you believe it, we’re beginning the final quarter of the school year. The year is going by quickly and we have covered quite a bit. This past week we focused on clouds. The students got to observe and write about clouds. They also made examples of the three main types of clouds. Most of the class completed their president presentations last week. We’ll wrap the last few on Monday.
We will focus on subtracting two 3-digit numbers with regrouping. The class started this topic last week, but it has been quite the challenge. We’ll have some centers to review topics from earlier in the year. On Tuesday, we’ll have some fun with St. Patrick’s Day themed math centers.
In reading, we will continue working in our small groups and focusing on comprehension and author’s purpose. We will have a comprehension test within the next two weeks, but there will not be a study guide. Students can study for this test by going back into their books to find the answers of questions you come up with for their nightly reading.
We will continue working with weather for two more weeks. This week we will focus in on the sun. Students will also be put into groups to do research about different weather phenomena.
