Common Operational Picture Map Journal Gallery App Web App Template Operations Dashboard Web App Builder Incident Briefing Situational Awareness Operational Planning Logistics Planning Public Info Map Impact Summary Incident Status The Situation Awareness gallery contains a suite of applications to support the different groups in Emergency Management. Each of these applications has unique functionality to support the needs of each group but they all share the same common operational data. Each app can be used separately or as part of a complete solution.

6 Getting Started with Situational Awareness
esriurl.com/SitAware Organize your geographic content Design fit for purpose maps Deploy mission focused applications Deliver solutions

7 1. Organize your Geographic Content
Apps Services Access / Identity Desktop Web Device Server Online Content and Services Portal Identify data sources Incident Data Authoritative Content Local Jurisdictions Reference Data ArcGIS Online HIFLD Open Data Feeds (weather, traffic, etc) Determine ArcGIS deployment pattern Determine what the assets you need to track and what resources you have available to you What are some data sources available to users that don’t have a place to get started? What authoritative data are you responsible for vs using someone else’s data You’ve got two primary patterns for sharing your data as a service with ArcGIS – Publish as hosted content in ArcGIS Online Publish as services in ArcGIS for Server Deploy web maps with Portal for ArcGIS (On Prem) Deploy web maps and apps with ArcGIS Online

8 1. Create your Services Catalog
Reference existing services Publish Services ArcGIS for Server ArcGIS Online Leverage Solutions service catalogs Demonstration

9 2. Configure your maps Build web maps for specific purposes
Design purposeful pop ups Visibility Editable Defines user experience in apps Layer symbols and visibility range Demonstration

10 3. Deploy applications Target a specific workflow or business process
Choose from many user experience types: Web application App Templates Web AppBuilder Mobile application (e.g. Collector) Desktop application Operations Dashboard (evolving to web)

22 Situational Awareness
Modern approach for the common operational picture Collection of maps and apps Built on shared data Rapid configuration and deployment Communicate situational awareness for both planned and unplanned events/incidents to response and executive level personnel in a portable so that they can more effectively initiate response procedures should the need arise, especially as they go through the travels of their business day outside of the EOC.
