Idolatry misrepresents God visually, taking God’s name in vain misrepresents God verbally (Don Carson).
Oaths/Swearing falsely = Calling on God as your witness when you are lying. 19

Blasphemy/Profanity = The charge that Jesus was executed for (Mark 14:64)
Calling on God/Being called by God’s name = the reasons God gave His name to Israel. 20

Taking the day off should have been the easiest commandment of all to keep
Sabbath is tied to: past creation, present redemption, future heaven (Hebrews 4) 22
