Puppet Software OH-TECH is considering a site-wide license, but needs interested individuals to make that make sense Currently, there is no non-OH-TECH spend on campus for this product If anyone is interested, contact Jim Jacob
4
Windows 10 MAK The current Multiple Activation Key (MAK) has been overused This is the first time this has happened A new key is available either today or tomorrow to SLSC’s We only get new keys with whole releases: there is no new key for the Creator Update Usage needs to be reviewed
5
Windows 10 MAK When should I use a MAK?
The machine never comes to campus, and does not VPN onto campus The machine is not in a lab (MAK keys may never be used in labs) The machine is somehow blocked from main campus networks and the KMS MAK’s are limited, but provide no insight into how they are used
6
Windows Windows 10 Education and Enterprise v1703 (the “Creator Update”) was released May 1 Available now on OSU SLS to Site License Software Coordinators Please test before rollout

Microsoft Renewal I need your feedback to negotiate with Microsoft about what should be in our next agreement. Some thoughts: RDS CALs Project/Visio Microsoft InTune ??? (cost reductions are always on the table)
9
Creative Cloud Complete
At renewal in November, we will migrate over to Creative Cloud Complete Currently, we have Creative Cloud Desktop No access to mobile apps, no storage, and no Portfolio, Typekit, or Behance This will add a lot of functionality to the suite It will also force a change in installation type: Currently, we are doing serialized installations/activations We will move to named user installation/activations
10
Possible Adobe Deal OH-TECH is also discussing a larger purchase to cover all entities in the state with a single purchase Current cost of OH-Tech agreement is around $26/FTE This is up from our current cost (about $20.50/FTE) This includes a plethora of tools we do not have, however It also will allow us to bring along students
11
Adobe Home Use With a new agreement, the Home Use equation changes a bit Named users don’t require activation the way serialized users do. Currently pending a security assessment from OCIO to move forward with Shibboleth integration
12
Tableau We’ve entered discussions about a site-wide license for Tableau We’re looking for a price we can take to the SFO’s for FTE-based funding This is a product with wide use across both research and administrative users OARnet may also get involved and expand the license beyond OSU We are working to add Educational pricing to the State Term agreement in the meantime
13
Oracle Licenses OCIO is planning to assess the current value of the Oracle Database licenses on campus with the arrival of Workday. Moving to Workday may provide an opportunity to reduce or alter spend with Oracle OCIO wants to ensure that the users who may have Oracle Databases don’t have their licensing pulled unexpectedly Watch OCIO communications for more information, and I’ll try and update next month here
14
Purchasing Projects Ohio Innovation Exchange (OiEx) RFP
