2 Resilience Building: Definition
Backdrop The USG spent $1 billion dollars in the Horn of Africa following the drought of 2011 in the form of emergency humanitarian assistance. Resiliency programming is designed to prevent that from happening again. Resilience Building: Definition Building Resilience is the process of creating and maintaining wealth and health in fragile environments through long-term sustainable and integrated development to enable the local population to be less prone to environmental, social and political shocks so they will no longer be dependent on humanitarian aid.
