1 MyStandards and MyStandards Readiness Portal
How MySt can help institutions to manage Standards and onboard or migrate their customers IBOS Brenda Jacobs 20 April 2015

2 The problems to solve Standards Management Customer onboarding
Maintain specifications over time Understand usage Manage variation Maintain consistent view across business and IT Maintain documentation Takes time (delayed revenue) Is expensive Overloads customer service teams Is lacking a shared view (readiness assesment) This are the 2 Standards areas were we know efficiency can be improved in the community. Organizations struggle with creating & maintaining customer facing documentation on how messages are formatted for an institution. Financial institutions must stay current with the revisions to the SWIFT MT standards and ISO standards. Organizations struggle with user acceptance testing, onboarding of new banking partners, and testing for the new standard releases. Standards management Maintain specifications over time => Which department owns the specs, where is the latest version, in which format are they documented, how to compare to the next Standards version,… Understand usage => How to understand the specs, is the same descriptive language used in each spec,… Manage variation => are their multiple specs for the same business usage,… Maintain consistent view across business and IT => how to ensure the formats required by business (excell, pdf) and IT (XML) reflect the same core/basis information Maintain documentation => update .pdf over time, store, distribute,… Customer onboarding and migration Takes time (delayed revenue) => Manual process involving manual review of messages received over , doing Q&A, sending doc, … Is expensive => Because resource intensive,… Overloads customer service teams => work can only be done sequencially, only so much customers can be dealed with at the same time,… Is lacking a shared view (readiness assesment) => how to know who is already testing or not, how much they have tested, keep overview,…

Your Goals Outsource implementation of Message Usage Guidelines Preparation phase Our Support SWIFT can take over the task of implementing message usage guidelines in your MyStandards Group. This is typically requested in case there are not enough resources or knowledge available, or time is very short. For that, we will go through a number of steps: - Analysis and verification of current customer specifications of the different message types/variants. Proposal of a methodology including the data entry rules, the review/acceptance process, the maintenance process. Have the data entry rules and the methodology signed off by the Customer. Implementation of the usage guidelines in MyStandards, starting with a template message if possible. Quality control of the implemented guideline in MyStandards, to ensure that they comply with the base standards, the appropriate Market Practice guides, the methodology and the source specifications. Publication of the specifications on MyStandards for the Customer, in order that the customer can perform the User Acceptance Testing. Usage Guidelines creation Quality control
