The Cryospheric Processes and Remote Sensing Laboratory focuses on understanding of cryospheric processes through, but not limited to, the use of remote sensing tools.

Examples of research activities are:
-microwave radiative transfer models
-testing of existing and new retrieval algorithms
-combination of active and passive microwave data
-data fusion of optical and microwave data
-grain size retrieval from optical and near-infrared measurements
-combining hydrological and electromagnetic models
-studying evolution of melting Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets,;
-surface and sub-surface ice sheet processes (e.g., supraglacial lakes);
-microscopy photography of snowflakes;
-IR photography of snow
