Interesting Facts: 8 September 1934 19 September
Peter Maxwell Davis was born in Manchester, a composer and conductor who lived in Orkney on the islands of Hoy then Sanday. He wrote around 300 works including pieces specially for children. In 2004 he became Master of Queens Music. At a concert in the St Magnus Cathedral last night to celebrate his music a group of P7 girls from our School took part performing an excerpt from Cinderella a children's in opera written by Peter Maxwell Davis 19 September Alex Salmond stood down as Scotland’s First Minister and leader of the SNP after Scotland voted ‘No’ to becoming an independent country.
