WHAT IS PINTEREST? Social Networking: “The visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save creative ideas.”

HOW DOES PINTEREST WORK?
Post or ‘PIN’ images or videos to the site. Post to your own or others’ Boards (i.e. a collection of Pins, usually with a common theme). Browse what other users have pinned.

WHY USE PINTEREST? Promote events at your Library.
Make your in-house displays ‘virtual.’ Show off your posters and infographics. Show off “Book Art” (yours and others). The sky’s the limit!

HOW DO I GET STARTED? Create an account at Pinterest.com
Pinterest is free. You must create an account to post content. You can only view a few pages before you must sign in.

STEPS IN PINNING Take a picture or video.
Add/upload (from a device or the Web)=PIN Add a brief description. Create a board (name, description, category) or choose an existing board. Promote your PIN.

SEARCHING FOR CONTENT Browsing is fun.
Searching is easy. (Search “Law Libraries”) All Pins Your Pins Pinners Boards

LIKING AND FOLLOWING Like Facebook, you can “like” Pinterest pages.
Like Twitter, you can “follow” Pinterest pages.
